TECNALIA RESEARCH AND INNOVATION (TECNALIA - www.tecnalia.com) is a private, non-forprofit, applied research centre of international excellence with a strong market orientation aiming at achieving the major impact in economic terms, through the innovation and technological development.

TECNALIA was born in 2011 from the merge of 8 technological centers: Cidemco, ESI; Euve, Fatronik, Inasmet, Labein, Leia and Robotiker, resulting the largest private R+D+i entity in Spain and the fifth in Europe, with a staff of over 1.400 employees, a turnover of almost 116 million Euros, 172 projects in FP6 (29 acting as coordinators), and 229 projects in FP7 (51 acting as coordinators), being the first Spanish private organisation in FP7 returns. TECNALIA has 7 Business Divisions addressed to strategic sectors: Energy and Environment, Industry & Transport, ICT-European Software Institute, Health, Sustainable Building, Innovation Strategies and Technological Services.

The goal of the ICT-European Software Institute Division is to contribute to the creation of an “interactive and interconnected world”, and make this challenge a way to generate business opportunities by incorporating intelligence into all kind of processes, devices and infrastructures: looking for a smart and friendly planet for people. In this context, Transport, Mobility and Logistics are strategic domains where our knowledge and capabilities can be applied to achieve higher levels of intelligence, efficiency and sustainability.
